Garage Sale Success!

Many thanks to everyone who came to our Garage Sale last Friday to support Women Build! We raised just under $1,500, which will be split between the Women Build and Youth United 2008 homes. Through your support, we are coming closer to our goal for funding our Women Build 2008 home.

Garage Sale Tomorrow!

I just want to remind everyone our Heartland Habitat for Humanity Garage Sale is tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. We have a HUGE garage full of gently used office furniture like bookshelves, file cabinets, desks, chairs and conference tables. The sale is in our garage near our office on Fairfax Traffic Way in Kansas City, Kansas. Look for the balloons!

All proceeds from this fundraising garage sale will benefit the Youth United 2008 and Women Build 2008 house builds. For more information about either build or the garage sale, call 913.342.3047.

We’re busy getting the word out about Women Build 2008. Check us out on MySpace and Facebook. If you are members of these sites, send us a friend request! Here are links to our MySpace and Facebook sites. In both places, you can find information about upcoming Women Build 2008 events and how to get involved. If you have a comment or question about Women Build 2008, send us messages or leave comments and wall posts. We are checking both sites daily, so someone will get back to you. You can also find e-mail addresses for Heartland Habitat for Humanity staff members who can assist you further.

Next week on Friday, July 18, Heartland Habitat for Humanity is holding a Garage Sale to benefit Women Build and Youth United 2008. We are selling gently used office furniture which was donated to us, and all funds raised will be split between the two builds. We spent today organizing and getting an inventory of all our items. We have TONS of office and conference room chairs. We have many desks, bookshelves, file cabinets, tables and some other office odds and ends. Our huge garage is packed full, so we’re hoping for a big turnout. We will start the sale at 9 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. Join us at lunch between noon and 1 p.m. for free hot dogs, chips and soda. Our garage is located near our office off I-70 on Fairfax Traffic Way in Kansas City, Kansas. We are in building A. Look for the balloons and Heartland Habitat for Humanity banner.
